Demetria (shortened to Demi) was born on August 20th 1992. She is the middle child of Patrick and Dianna Lovato.
She began acting at the age of 6, when she was a regular on ‘Barney & Friends’ with her best friend Selena Gomez.
As she got older, she started singing and playing instruments. She also guest starred in shows such as Prison Break.
In early 2007, she got the role of Charlotte in Disney’s ‘As The Bell Rings’.
In the Summer of 2008, she played Mitchie Torres in Disney Channel’s Original Movie ‘Camp Rock’. After this, she became well known and went on tour with her co-stars the Jonas Brothers.
As well as acting, Demi has recorded her own version of ‘That’s How You Know’ (originally from Enchanted and performed by Amy Adams) for Disney Mania 6. She also sang for the soundtrack of Camp Rock.
Her debut, solo album ‘Don’t Forget’ was released on September 23rd. It was one of the biggest selling debut albums of the year. The album debuted in second position in the Billboard 200, behind Metallica’s ‘Death Magnetic’ but ahead of Pussycat Dolls ‘Doll Domination’ and Kings Of Leon’s ‘Only By The Night’.

Demi co-wrote all the songs excluding ‘The Middle’ and ‘Until You’re Mine’.
Demi competed in the Disney Channel Games 2008. She was on Lightening (Blue team), led by Cheetah Girl Keely Williams.
She also finished filming ‘Princess Protection Program’ where she plays Princess Rosalinda, who is
forced into hiding. Her best friend, Selena Gomez, also co-stars.
Demi is also filming ‘Sonny With A Chance’ (formally known as Welcome To Holliwood/Molliwood). She plays Sonny, a girl who is given a chance to become a star. She started filming in late September 2008.
The series pilot was one of the highest viewed episodes on the Disney Channel.
Camp Rock 2 has also been confirmed. Although a script has not been written yet, Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers have already been confirmed to reprise their roles as Mitchie Torres and Connect 3.
The follow up to Demi’s album ‘Don’t Forget’ is set to be released some time next year. She is also set to
go on tour on the summer of 2009 on her own headlining tour. It is rumoured that her BFF Selena Gomez
is to open up for her.
A Deluxe Edition of ‘Don’t Forget’ is to be released on March 31st.
